Meet Our Staff

Paul is our founder, managing director and source of all things knowledgeable. In his spare time, he is usually on his motorbike or playing one of his many instruments. Anyone for bagpipes?

Advice and Information Team

Adam is head of our advisory team and has a lot of experience in special educational needs. He has a fondness for steam trains and barbecues.
Nick is our resident drummer (and AT advisor).  He very enthusiastically drives around the country, travels the world, visiting and training our customers.
Gemma is an excellent trainer and AT advisor, and particularly good at making grid sets.  She is the most arty member of the team, with jewellery making one of her hobbies.
Neil is the newest member of our Advice and Information team, and is full of bright ideas and energy.   He enjoys walking his dog and making cocktails!

Customer Support

Steve is your top contact for repairs and support.  He’s very sporty and would prefer to come to work in shorts, even if it’s snowing!
Tizzy is on hand for software support, waiting for your call. A bit of a dark horse, but we have a suspicion that she’s a bit of a rocker…
Robin is the person who sets up your machine, all shiny and new, ready to go.  He’s a bit of an outdoors man, enjoying walking and climbing.
Sandy also sets up the new machines, and helps Steve out with repairs.  She plays the cornet in the local brass band, and is joint record holder for “Largest Ukulele Ensemble”.
Charlie is our hardware man, the handyman everyone wants to know.  Usually to be found soldering JoyCables, but can turn his hand to anything.

Admin

Alyson is the person who keeps us all in order, and deals with sales orders as they come in.  She’s a fabulous entertainer in her spare time, we don’t know how she does it!
Bev is the person you need if you wish to book an assessment or some training. She enjoys gardening, and her cat is best friends with Rob’s cat (see below…)
Simon is one of our book keepers, keeping all the accounts in order for us.  He has an endless list of hobbies and gadgets, but top of the pops is marshalling at race meetings.
Maggie is our other book keeper, calmly making sure money is coming in and out. Very fond of her grandchildren, she is taking them to Disneyland Paris soon!

Business Development

Dougal is in charge of the website and brochures, and coming up with new ideas for Smartbox.  You may find he mentions South America quite a lot, after his four month trip there.

Our Friends at Sensory Software

Barney is our head of software development, and main man behind The Grid 2. He likes to be self-sufficient, and successfully grows his own vegetables, makes his own bacon, you name it!
Rob is our technical wiz, with endless reams of knowledge and tons of experience in software development.  He is excellent at making science projects for his grandson, but seemed most impressed with his Lego robot.
Clare keeps herself occupied with developing new programs, editing the website and helping out Rob and Barney with Grid 2 maintenance. She is the resident chocoholic and a highly trained chalet girl.
