Communication Aids

A communication aid is a device that helps someone to communicate.  Picture books and sign language have been used for a long time, and continue to be very useful communication aids.

With the advent of electronics, simple devices that recorded one or more phrases were introduced.  These systems have evolved into the high-tech communication aids that we supply today.  One of our communication systems will enable someone to say what they want, when they want to.  The software can be configured to suit each individual, and the vocabulary can grow with the student.

Windows computers

We use Windows computers to make communication aids.  Modern computers are fast and flexible, and they come in many shapes and sizes.

We supply our communication aids with The Grid 2 from Sensory Software.  This software allows a computer to be used for communication, based on text or symbols.  One of the advantages of The Grid 2 is that it can be run on any Windows XP, Vista or Windows 7 computer.

What is right for me?

We supply communication aids in a variety of shapes and sizes.  Most can be attached to a wheelchair, placed on a desk or carried around by hand.  Take a look at the selection we offer on this website, and call us if you have any questions.  We will most likely suggest we visit you with a range of devices to look at and our expert team will offer sound information and advice.
