Tobii S32
The Tobii S32 is a communication aid that plays pre-recorded messages, activated by touching a symbol or using one or two switches.
It is available in two different models, Touch and Scan. The Tobii S32 Touch is targeted specifically towards individuals who can use their hands to press on keys and symbols.
The Tobii S32 Scan is a switch/scan model, made for individuals who have difficulty using their hands, who instead use switches to make their choice in the grids or scenes.
The Tobii S32 stores up to 192 Cards at the same time and has a memory card that holds over 60 hours of high quality sound. With such a large recording capacity, you have the space to store words and phrases, funny moments, stories, personal information or even entire music CDs.
The price includes the Symbol Mate software needed to create overlays.

To celebrate the run up to the Paralympics in August, Tobii are offering a huge reduction on the S32 Communication Aid. From 1st January 2012 to 29th August (when the Paralympics begin) the Tobii S32 is just £673 for the touch version and £725 for the scanning version.The price includes the Symbol Mate software needed to create overlays.
We supply Tobii's SymbolMate software with the S32. Using SymbolMate you can create, edit and print your own page sets for this device.
Pages made in SymbolMate will have a unique bar code. The built in bar code reader on the S32 reads this code to recall and play the appropriate recordings. The device can store 192 different levels and page sets.
It’s suitable for a wide range of cognitive and literacy abilities, and plays back pre-recorded audio messages or IR signals, activated by the pressing touchpads on the device.
The S32 Scan also features environmental control and a range of features to maximise the effectiveness of the messages available from each overlay. It’s powered by four normal AA-size batteries, which should give several weeks of use.

Access
The S32 is available in two different models - Touch and Scan. Both models allow access by touch, but the Scan model also has two switch inputs.The S32 Scan can be operated by touch or by one or two switches. Four switch scanning modes are available: step scan, row/column, column/row, and random.
Automatic scanning, which has a variable scan speed, is usable with one switch scanning only - when using two switches, one moves the highlighter and the other makes the selections. The currently highlighted selection is indicated by a green LED at the top right of the cell.
The user can listen to auditory prompts, through the headphones, before a message or sound is played back aloud to make sure that the message is correct.
